The Cleveland Guardians completed a historic 15.5-game comeback to claim the AL Central title on Sunday, erasing the Detroit Tigers’ midsummer lead.

The Cincinnati Reds secured an NL wild-card berth despite a loss to Milwaukee, aided by Miami’s win over the New York Mets. Cincinnati held the tiebreaker over New York.

Ohio will receive nearly $105 million in federal funding over five years to establish and expand public charter schools.

U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon announced the spending during a visit to Columbus on Wednesday, calling school-choice initiatives critical to improving education.

“A one-size-fits-all education system is not working for our students. Charter schools allow for innovative educational models that expand learning opportunities for students,” she said.
