Own The Flyover
From the Founder’s Desk:Why I Want Flyover Readers to Own The Ohio Flyover

When I decided to accept investors in The Ohio Flyover, one thing mattered to me more than anything: that our readers would have the chance to become our owners. If I had my druthers, every single investor in The Ohio Flyover would be an Ohio Flyover reader. That’s why we’ve structured this offering with you in mind:
  • 5% bonus shares for all Ohio Flyover readers who invest
  • An additional 5% and 10% bonus for those investing larger amounts
Legally, the offering is open to any U.S. citizen. But my heart—and our strategy—are focused on keeping ownership in the hands of our readers. Right now, we’re less than $350,000 away from hitting 50% of our ultimate funding goal – but our Q3 deadline for 50% raised has passed, and we are behind.
That’s why I’m asking our readers one more time: will you consider investing in The Ohio Flyover today?
But some of our readers are asking: “How do I get a return on my investment?”
Here’s why The Ohio Flyover is different:
  • Already profitable after just two years (most start-ups never are)
  • 80% gross margins and 24% net income (exceptional margins)
  • In the top 1% of media start-ups (proven strength)
How investors could realize returns:
  1. A Sale – Only to a partner who shares our values. (CNN or the New York Times need not apply.)
  2. Public Listing – Shares traded openly on an exchange.
  3. Profit Distributions (Dividends) – Because we’re already profitable, this is possible.
Recap: Sale. Listing. Distributions.
My Closing Pitch

More than 1,450 Flyover readers have already joined us as investors. We’re just $350K away from our next milestone. If you’ve been considering investing, now is the moment. Let’s finish this round together and make The Ohio Flyover a news company truly owned by its readers.

Will you be one of the investors who help us keep The Ohio Flyover reader-owned?

Article Icon 1Ohio Lawmakers Respond to Shutdown

The federal government shut down on Wednesday after Congress failed to pass a funding bill, prompting Ohio lawmakers to issue statements largely blaming the opposing party.

Republican U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno criticized Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for “rejecting spending levels he’s voted for in the past,” while Democratic U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty cited federal health care credits as a reason she voted against a continuing resolution.

As a result, most national parks will be closed to the public, including Ohio’s Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Although there are numerous access points to the park’s 33,000 acres, the Department of the Interior has asked the public to avoid visiting during the shutdown for safety reasons.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton will also temporarily close because of a “lack of government appropriations,” as will the National Aviation Hall of Fame.

Article Icon 1Cincinnati Children’s Earns National Recognition

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital was ranked No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in Ohio on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals.

Forbes surveyed 17,000 workers at U.S. hospital systems about wages, working conditions, schedules, safety, and other categories. More than 19,600 employees work for Cincinnati Children’s, which sees 1.7 million patients each year.

Seven other Ohio hospital systems ranked in the top 100: Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals in Cleveland, Akron Children’s Hospital, Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and Avita Health System in Galion.

Six additional systems ranked outside the top 100. You can see the full list from Forbes here.

Article Icon 1Reds Eliminated in NLWC

The Cincinnati Reds were eliminated from the 2025 MLB postseason with an 8-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers that completed a two-game sweep in the National League wild-card series.

The Reds jumped out to a 2-0 first-inning lead but went 3-of-10 with runners in scoring position, leaving the bases loaded twice.

It was Cincinnati’s first postseason appearance since the expanded 2020 COVID-19 playoffs, and its first full-season appearance since 2013.
