Data Centers Provide Economic Boost

Data centers added $12 billion to Ohio’s economy in 2024 while supporting nearly 95,000 jobs, according to a new study by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation.

For every $1 Ohio provided in tax incentives to companies such as Google and Meta, the state received $2.10 in return. In 2024 alone, state tax revenue from data centers totaled more than $1 billion.

By 2030, researchers estimate that $40 billion will have been invested in data centers across the state, with state GDP reaching $20 billion and employment hitting 130,000.

The report also warned about the strain created by data centers on water and energy resources.

Bearcats Beat 14th-Ranked Iowa State

Evan Pryor ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns, and Brendan Sorsby passed for 214 yards and two scores as Cincinnati beat previously unbeaten No. 14 Iowa State 38-30 on Saturday.

The Bearcats jumped out to a 31-7 lead in the second quarter and held on despite the Cyclones scoring three of the next four touchdowns. Fans rushed the field at Nippert Stadium after Cincinnati’s first home win over a ranked opponent since 2021 against No. 16 Houston.

Luxury Mount Adams Home Listed at $2.79M

A home in Cincinnati’s Mount Adams neighborhood, offering views of downtown and the Ohio River, has been listed for sale at $2.79 million.

The 3,969-square-foot house has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and a two-car garage equipped for electric vehicle charging.

An elevator serves all four levels of the home, including the lower-level suite with a private entrance, bathroom, and kitchenette. The rooftop terrace includes window boxes with a built-in watering system.
