Article Icon 1Stores Offer Thanksgiving Deals

Grocery chains are lowering prices on Thanksgiving staples, with Meijer cutting prices on more than 90 items, including offering turkeys for 49 cents a pound or less.

Aldi, Walmart, and Target are also among those offering meal deals ahead of Thanksgiving.

The discounts come as Ohioans look for ways to save on holiday meals.

In Ohio and nationally, a debate continues over whether food prices are up overall this Thanksgiving from a year ago.

Article Icon 1Ban on Foreign Donations Stands

A lawsuit challenging the state’s ban on foreign donations to statewide ballot measures has been dismissed, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said.

State lawmakers approved the ban in response to a 2023 abortion rights ballot question, which received foreign donations.

The lawsuit’s dismissal follows an appeals court ruling that found the ban doesn’t violate the First Amendment because it’s based on a donor’s citizenship, not their speech.

Ohio also bans foreign donations to political candidates.

Interstate 270 in Hilliard was closed for more than an hour Monday night after a cow wandered onto the highway.

The cow, named Marigold, slipped out of a West Virginia-bound livestock trailer and blocked the highway near Davidson Road.

Authorities eventually coaxed the cow into a trailer using grain and a lasso. A video showing their efforts is available here.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random.

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras laughing at the people they were scamming. One even bragged about making $250K off victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t dial numbers at random—they buy your data from brokers.

Once your info is out there, it’s not just annoying calls. It opens the door to phishing, impersonation, and even identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni. They delete your personal data from the web, follow up with data brokers automatically, and continue monitoring as new threats pop up.
