Economy Top Concern in BGSU Poll
A Bowling Green State University/YouGov survey found the economy ranked as the most important issue for registered voters ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address.
A four-person research team in the school’s Department of Political Science developed, ordered, tested, and analyzed the poll.
The economy was cited by 42%, followed by threats to democracy (32%), health care (31%), immigration (31%), and inflation (29%). You can view the complete results here.
In other results, about 51% of Republican respondents said they’d support Ohio native Vice President JD Vance in the 2028 presidential race, with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a distant second place.
Among Democrats, California Gov. Gavin Newsom held a slight edge over former Vice President Kamala Harris, followed by New York U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
