As part of Easter observances on Sunday, thousands of Ohioans joined the Catholic Church, continuing a growth trend.

Churches across the state welcomed more than 2,000 members. Nationally, adult conversion numbers set a record in 2025 and again this year, according to church leaders.

Ahead of Easter, Middletown-born Vice President JD Vance spoke about his upcoming memoir, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faithwhich explores his 2019 conversion to Catholicism. The book is set for release on June 16.

A reenactment of a Revolutionary War-era encampment will take place on April 15 at the Ohio Statehouse, part of the state’s America 250 celebrations.

The event will also feature 18th-century music and food.

Groups represented will include Captain Joseph Ogle’s Company of the Ohio County, Heritage Fife and Drums, the 8th Pennsylvania Regiment, and Citizens of the Ohio Country.

The reenactment will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with April 16 set as a backup date in case of rain. More information is available here.
