No. 4 Ohio State avenged last season’s Big Ten Championship Game loss with a hard-fought 19-15 win at No. 5 Indiana Saturday, snapping the defending national champions’ 22-game winning streak.

Facing fourth-and-1 in the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes went deep, and Jeremiah Smith hauled in a 38-yard touchdown from Julian Sayin over multiple defenders. It was Smith’s 39th career touchdown catch, tying Braylon Edwards’ Big Ten record.

Indiana pulled within four and reached the Ohio State 27 on its final drive after a controversial roughing-the-passer penalty extended the Hoosiers’ drive, but IU’s Nick Marsh stepped out of bounds on an apparent game-winning touchdown on fourth down.

Sayin, a Heisman Trophy finalist last season, left in the fourth quarter with an apparent arm injury, and coach Ryan Day said he’ll “probably be out several weeks.”

The William Mason High School Marching Band was chosen from more than 100 applicants nationwide to march in the 2027 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the program’s first appearance in the New York City tradition.

Students and parents learned the news in a surprise announcement after rehearsal Friday, complete with a drumroll, a sign, and a teacher dressed in a turkey costume.

Macy’s also announced a $10,000 donation to the band program.

Director Jason Sleppy said the honor follows hours of rehearsals, football game performances, and weekend competitions, adding that he’s excited his students will “represent Ohio in the parade.”
