Ohio students will soon return to classrooms, with start dates varying district by district. Most schools across the state begin classes between Aug. 11 and Sept. 4.

Several districts, such as Lebanon City Schools, have planned staggered openings. In Lebanon, the start of the year for various grades will be spread across Aug. 20-22 and Aug. 25. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District begins Aug. 19, Cincinnati Public Schools start Aug. 20, and most Columbus City Schools students return Aug. 25.

Two Ohio communities—Strongsville and Bexley—ranked among America’s top 10 hottest ZIP codes for home sales in 2025, according to a new study.

Strongsville, outside Cleveland, sees listings draw 5.2 times more views and sell much faster than the national average, with a median price of $423,000. Bexley, near Columbus, gets 3.4 times more views per home, with a median price of $439,000. Other Ohio ZIP codes making the top 50 include Toledo, Cuyahoga Falls, Mansfield, Ashland, Canton, Fairfield, and Tiffin. 

The annual list highlights markets with high buyer demand and rapid sales, even as homebuying activity slows in much of the country. The complete report can be viewed here.

Article Icon 1Tomato Festival Marks 60 Years

The Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival is celebrating its 60th anniversary this weekend at Huber Park, honoring the city’s legacy as the birthplace of the commercial tomato.

Attractions include Tomato Wars—a dodgeball-style competition with tomatoes—a spaghetti-eating contest, a car and bike show, carnival rides, a pizza judging contest, and prizes for the most unique and impressive tomatoes.

Musical acts feature Charlie Bonnet III, Stokley, Dillon Carmichael, and Eddie Montgomery, with all shows free to attend. The festival started Thursday and runs from 4 to 10 p.m. tonight and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
