Article Icon 1Snow, Frigid Wind Chills in Forecast

More snow is expected to move across the state on Saturday after winter weather moved into the region late Thursday night.

Arctic air is also expected to descend on the Buckeye State, with below zero wind chills possible Sunday night into Monday.

Ohio doesn’t have a statewide law requiring property owners to clear snow from sidewalks, and the Ohio Supreme Court has found that they generally aren’t liable if someone slips and is injured.

However, cities including Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and others require residents to remove snow and ice from sidewalks in a timely manner. See more about local rules on snow and ice removal here.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that a Michigan man treated at the University of Toledo Medical Center earlier this year died from rabies transmitted by a transplanted kidney.

The Idaho man who was the source of the donated kidney had been scratched by a skunk about six weeks before his death and later exhibited confusion, hallucinations, and difficulty walking.

The CDC report found that the man’s family didn’t disclose some of these details on the donor risk assessment questionnaire before the transplant.

Investigators identified more than 370 people who might have been exposed to material from the donor, the skunk, or the kidney recipient. Forty-six were advised to receive preventive care.

Ornaments designed by students at St. Joseph’s Montessori School in Columbus hang on Ohio’s designated Christmas tree outside the White House.

There are 58 smaller trees lining what’s called the Pathway of Peace around the National Christmas Tree outside the White House, each representing a state or territory. Students ages 4 to 19 design ornaments that showcase local traditions and creativity.

Students were asked to consider what makes their state beautiful, and St. Joseph’s Montessori School’s designs centered around native Ohio plants and flowers. You can see their designs here.

The National Christmas Tree display will be open until Jan. 1. The 103rd lighting ceremony took place on Dec. 4 and is available to watch online.

The $4 Billion Deal Everyday Investors Missed

In 2012, Disney acquired Lucasfilm for $4 billion — one of the most profitable entertainment deals ever made.

But everyday investors never had the chance to participate. The upside was locked away behind private doors.

This dynamic is finally changing. A new company has quietly assembled what normally takes media giants billions to acquire.

After a decade-long legal effort at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, Elf Labs secured more than 500 trademarks and copyrights featuring iconic characters like Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and many others.

It’s one of the most significant character-IP victories in recent memory — and they are already rapidly scaling.

  • $15M+ in royalties

  • Upcoming global rollout to 200M TVs

  • 12 patents being used to power 3D & immersive content

  • Unsolicited $70M+ offers before any nationwide rollout

  • A team with a $6B+ licensing track record

The shift resembles the Lucasfilm moment — except this time, the opportunity is still open to everyday investors.

Elf is building a tech-powered character universe designed to disrupt the $2 trillion entertainment and merchandise market. With enterprise backing and distribution underway, they’re entering a major growth phase.
