Article Icon 1Afroman Wins Defamation Suit

A jury ruled in favor of rapper Joseph Foreman, who is known as Afroman, in a defamation lawsuit filed by Adams County sheriff’s deputies over his use of police raid footage in 2023 music videos.

The deputies said their likenesses were used without permission in the music videos Will You Help Me Repair My Door and Lemon Pound Cake, and that they suffered embarrassment and received death threats.

In 2022, deputies raided Afroman’s home as part of a possible drug and kidnapping investigation. No charges were filed. Afroman said deputies failed to return $400 seized during the raid and damaged his home, later saying they were not responsible for repairs.

Another Adams County sheriff’s office also drew online criticism over the situation, though the case involved Adams County, Ohio, not Adams County, Colorado. The Colorado sheriff’s office released a video clarifying that its department was not involved in the litigation with the rapper.

A jury found Total Quality Logistics negligent in Magnolia Walsh’s 2021 death and ordered it to pay $22.5 million after she died hours after delivery at 20 weeks.

Magnolia’s mother, Chelsea Walsh, worked for TQL while pregnant. Because of complications, her doctor ordered modified bed rest and instructed her to work from home. TQL didn’t grant Walsh’s request to work from home, and at one point, placed her on unpaid leave.

She was later allowed to work from home after her husband’s employer contacted TQL—but Walsh was admitted to a hospital that same day, where she gave birth prematurely to Magnolia.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) was named North America’s Best Regional Airport by Skytrax at the World Airport Awards.

The airport returned to the No. 1 spot in North America after spending the past two years in the top five, airport officials said. You can see the complete rankings here.

CVG also ranked No. 4 on the global list of best regional airports, behind Centrair Nagoya International Airport and Fukuoka Airport in Japan, and Haikou Meilan International Airport in China.

Meanwhile, TSA wait times at CVG remained relatively short amid the partial government shutdown. While other U.S. airports faced significant delays, the security wait for Cincinnati-area travelers was just four minutes as of Wednesday.
