Father Charged in Deputy’s Death

Rodney Hinton Jr., 38, has been charged with aggravated murder after allegedly striking and killing a Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy with his vehicle Friday in Cincinnati.

The incident occurred one day after Hinton’s son, Ryan Hinton, 18, was fatally shot by a Cincinnati police officer during a foot chase. Police said the younger Hinton pointed a gun at an officer before he was shot.

Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police President Ken Kober alleged that the father “intentionally murdered” the deputy, who has not yet been publicly identified.

Rodney Hinton appeared in court on Saturday, where a judge ordered him held without bail until a hearing on Tuesday.

$800M Plant to Create 491 Jobs

Kimberly-Clark plans to build an $800 million manufacturing facility in Warren that will employ an estimated 491 workers.

The Dallas-based company is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of personal hygiene products, and is known for brands such as Huggies and Kleenex.

The company cited Ohio’s business climate, infrastructure, and location as reasons for its investment. The company also received a 10-year job creation tax credit.

Construction is set to begin this month and is expected to take up to two years.

BGSU Unveils AI Degree Program

Bowling Green State University plans to offer a Bachelor of Science in AI + X, a first-of-its-kind program that applies artificial intelligence to specific academic disciplines.

Students will pair AI coursework with one of six studies: computer science, mathematics, physics, history, journalism, or public relations.

The program is set to launch in the fall, pending approval from the state Department of Higher Education.
