U.S. Medical Glove Company has purchased the Pixelle Specialty Solutions paper mill in Chillicothe, which closed in August and left nearly 800 workers jobless.

U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, joined local officials to announce that the new owner will transform the former paper mill into a nitrile glove manufacturing site.

Sixty employees have been hired, and up to 550 non-union jobs are expected.

Former Pixelle workers affected by the shutdown have expressed gratitude for the mill’s reopening, but also concern about rumored wages.

Ohio Sens. Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno voted for the National Defense Authorization Act, which passed 77-20 in the Senate and funds several military projects in the state. It now heads to the House.

If passed, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base would receive $45 million for the construction of a Human Performance Wing Laboratory, $15 million for improvements to the main runway, and $2.8 million for an artificial intelligence supercomputer center.

Husted said that the bill would create Ohio jobs tied to a military nuclear reactor project and a missile defense program. Ohio ranks No. 12 nationwide for total active-duty, National Guard, reserve, and civilian War Department personnel.

The vote came during a federal government shutdown and before President Trump announced he ordered the Department of War to use “all available funds” to pay American troops.

The nation’s longest high school football winning streak nearly ended Friday night, but Marion Local forced an incomplete pass on a two-point try in the second overtime to beat Anna 28-27.

It was the Flyers’ 72nd consecutive win. They haven’t lost since a 2020 playoff game against New Bremen.

Anna scored first in overtime to go up 21-14, but Marion Local answered with touchdowns to end the first overtime and start the second. Anna scored on a 14-yard pass and went for the win with a two-point conversion, but Marion Local’s Brayden Mescher broke up the pass.

The Flyers visit Minster on Friday, then close with their regular-season-ending rivalry game against Coldwater as they look for wins 73 and 74.

Digital Dollar 2.0 May Be Coming

On July 17, while the press chased shiny objects and Epstein headlines, the House passed the GENIUS Act.

According to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, it’s a bill that contains “the entire setup, groundwork, and infrastructure to move from cash to digital currency.”

What appears to be “modernization” may actually be a transition to programmable money. In other words, a digital currency that could be controlled by the federal government.

When cash dies, access to your savings can become conditional.

That’s not theoretical. Ask Canada’s truckers what happened when their bank accounts were frozen.

This isn’t a currency debate. It’s a sovereignty crisis.

If they control your money, they control you.

You may be out of options, but there’s one move you could take:
