Ohio Athletes Sign With Colleges

National Signing Day for the high school class of 2026 arrived on Wednesday, and the top high school football seniors across Ohio finalized their college commitments.

Nineteen athletes from Ohio were ranked by Rivals as four- or five-star prospects. Ohio’s Nos. 1 and 3 recruits signed with Ohio State: Archbishop Hoban offensive tackle Sam Greer and Glenville linebacker Cincere Johnson, both four-star prospects.

Among the rest of the state’s top 10 players were signees at USC, Texas A&M, Indiana, Miami (Fla.), and Kentucky. See all of Ohio’s top prospects here.

Ohio State signed a star-studded class, expected to finish in the top 10 nationally, featuring multiple five-stars. Cincinnati entered National Signing Day with the No. 60 class, while Toledo brought in the best group of prospects in the Mid-American Conference.

Ohio Tied to Most-Read Wikipedia Entries

Wikipedia announced its most-read articles of 2025, and two of the top 20 have connections to Ohio.

At No. 10 was the 2025 film Superman. The character was created by Glenville High School graduates Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and the newest movie in the series features locations across Ohio.

Filming and photography took place in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Mentor. The production prominently features Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians, as well as Union Terminal and Lytle Tunnel in Cincinnati.

The No. 16 most-read Wikipedia article this year was the entry on Vice President JD Vance, a Middletown native who served as a U.S. senator from Ohio before his election as vice president.
