Article Icon 1Cincinnati’s 105th Opening Day Parade Today

Baseball Opening Day in Cincinnati has been an unofficial holiday in the city for over a century, and that tradition lives on this afternoon with the 105th Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.

Former Cincinnati Reds infielder Chris Sabo is the Opening Day Grand Marshal, and former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip is the Honorary Grand Marshal in a nod to the Reds’ participation in the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic.

The parade begins at noon and will feature over 150 organizations, including floats for Cincinnati Olympians and Bengals alumni. See the full parade lineup here.

Several roads in the Findlay Market area will close at 8 a.m. along the 1.4-mile parade route. You can see those closures here.

Right-handed pitcher Tanner Bibee will open the season for the Cleveland Guardians this afternoon as Cleveland begins its campaign for a third AL Central Division title in four years. The team made it to last year’s ALCS, falling to the New York Yankees in five games.

In Cincinnati, the Reds have brought in legendary manager Terry Francona after the team’s seventh losing season in the past decade. Francona named right-hander Hunter Greene the Opening Day starter.

Both teams feature plenty of star power. Cleveland third baseman José Ramírez is an AL MVP candidate, and Emmanuel Clase is considered baseball’s best closer. The Reds have arguably the National League’s best middle infield with Elly De La Cruz and Matt McLain, as well as one of MLB’s best starting rotations.

Heading into Opening Day, Fangraphs projects the Guardians and Reds to finish fourth in their respective divisions. You can see Fangraphs’ full projected standings here.
