Article Icon 1Bomb Threat Disrupts Columbus-Atlanta Flight

A passenger on a Sunday afternoon flight from Columbus to Atlanta allegedly made a verbal bomb threat as the aircraft taxied to the gate, prompting officials to park the plane away from the terminal while law enforcement responded.

The flight departed John Glenn Columbus International Airport at 2:38 p.m. and arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 5:09 p.m.

Air traffic control audio indicated the passenger also threatened the woman seated next to him. Authorities ultimately determined there was no credible threat, and passengers were deplaned and transported by bus to the terminal.

The FBI is investigating the alleged false bomb threat, and authorities said the incident is not being treated as a hijacking.

Article Icon 1Ohio Senate Considers Charlie Kirk-Inspired Bill

The Ohio Senate is considering legislation named for slain Christian conservative activist Charlie Kirk that would encourage public schools to teach the “positive influence of religion” in history classes.

House Bill 486, the Charlie Kirk American Heritage Act, was advanced by the Ohio House in November. It aims to remind teachers they may legally teach the positive impacts of religion, particularly Christianity.

Bill co-author Rep. Gary Click, R-Vickery, said the measure doesn’t impose new regulations or mandates on educators, but “simply removes the invisible shackles that often hinder a full and transparent teaching of American history.”
