Article Icon 1Fallen Officer’s Mom Calls for Investigation

Dawn Derbin, the mother of fallen Euclid police officer Jacob Derbin, urged President Trump and the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate her son’s death, citing concerns over the case’s handling by local authorities.

She cited alleged inconsistencies and a lack of transparency in the investigation, and suggested the possibility of friendly fire.

Officer Jacob Derbin was fatally shot on May 11, 2024, during an ambush while responding to a disturbance call. The following day, the suspect died by suicide during a police standoff.

On April 30, a Cuyahoga County grand jury cleared Euclid police officers present at the scene of Derbin’s shooting.

State lawmakers proposed the Breast Examination and Screening Transformation (BEST) Act to eliminate copays and other out-of-pocket costs for breast cancer screenings.

The bill, introduced by state Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Loveland, builds on House Bill 371, a 2022 law that requires insurance companies to cover supplemental screenings for high-risk individuals but does not eliminate copays or deductibles.

University of Cincinnati radiologist Dr. Ann Brown praised the legislation’s potential to reduce financial barriers and save lives.

The bill is awaiting a committee hearing.

The $1.5T Tech Upgrade Our Cities Have Been Waiting For

Wi-Fi alone can’t handle the technologies connecting businesses, schools, and major institutions.

That’s why brands like Crayola are tapping into IotaComm’s nationwide wireless network. It’s less costly than Wi-Fi but powerful enough to help build “smarter” operations across entire cities and towns.

IotaComm’s cutting-edge IoT platform, Delphi360, can help to improve air quality, energy usage, and traffic—and is planning to integrate AI in its next product release.

Here’s why it’s such a game-changer:

  •  IotaComm owns a nationwide portfolio of scarce FCC-licensed spectrum

  • It’s a $1.5T Internet of Things market opportunity

  • Potential to reduce energy usage by up to 30%

But there’s even better news…
