Montreal Flights Added; Airport Reviews Mixed

Meanwhile, J.D. Power ranked Cleveland Hopkins International Airport near the bottom in its 2025 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, placing 17th of 18 medium airports with a score of 611 out of 1,000.

Vets and Pediatricians Team on Monkey Surgery

Columbus Zoo veterinarians partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital specialists to operate on Matilda, a 13-year-old mandrill experiencing breathing issues attributed to a suspected nasal condition.

Mandrills are the largest Old World monkeys, standing 22 to 32 inches tall. Adult females typically weigh 35 to 50 pounds, according to the zoo.

Dr. Charles Elmaraghy, chief of pediatric otolaryngology at Nationwide Children’s, led the procedure—one he routinely performs on children—after zoo staff consulted the hospital’s ear, nose, and throat team.

Officials said Matilda’s breathing improved immediately after surgery. After a short recovery, she has returned to her habitat and resumed normal activity.

State Among Best for Small Businesses

Ohio ranks No. 5 among states for small-business survival, with 55% of those launched in 2019 still operating in 2024, according to an analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

West Virginia led the nation with a 57.6% success rate, followed by Connecticut, Alaska, and Pennsylvania. Ohio tied South Dakota for fifth place. Nationally, about 51% of new businesses survive five years.

A separate 2025 study ranked Ohio as the second-best state to start a business, citing comparatively low office rents, competitive sales tax rates, and favorable unemployment levels.
