Article Icon 1Boom! Meteor Streaks Across NE Ohio

NASA and the National Weather Service in Cleveland said a meteor caused a loud boom over northeast Ohio just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

A spokesperson for NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office said the meteor was traveling about 45,000 mph, “which is fast for a human but slow for a meteor.”

The boom was heard as far west as Norwalk and as far east as Pennsylvania. Sightings of the fireball stretched as far as Kentucky and Virginia.

Tilray Brands announced plans to acquire BrewDog’s Ohio-based U.S. operations, weeks after buying the Scottish brewer’s assets in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia.

Tilray plans to keep open the brewery, hotel, and taproom in Canal Winchester, BrewDog pubs in New Albany and Cleveland, and the brand’s bar at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

BrewDog’s U.S. operations are headquartered in Canal Winchester.

Earlier this year, BrewDog closed its Columbus taprooms in Franklinton and the Short North.

Article Icon 1Justices to Review Haitians’ Status

The U.S. Supreme Court will review the Trump administration’s effort to end Temporary Protected Status for Haitians in the U.S., including about 15,000 people residing in Springfield.

Earlier this year, a judge blocked TPS from ending on its scheduled expiration date of Feb. 3. The Trump administration asked the high court to intervene, calling the ruling the work of an “activist judge.”

Justices will hear arguments in late April, with a decision expected by June.

Supporters of the program’s end argue that TPS was never meant to be permanent, while critics of the move filed a court brief in support of extending the program.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor, and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.
