The city of Cleveland and the Cleveland Browns reached an agreement clearing the way for construction of the Browns’ domed stadium in Brook Park.

Mayor Justin M. Bibb and team owner Haslam Sports Group announced the deal to fund the redevelopment of the Browns’ current stadium site.

Under the agreement, HSG will pay Cleveland $50 million over five years, fund the razing of the current stadium, and invest at least $20 million in community projects.

Both sides agreed to dismiss lawsuits surrounding the team’s move.

Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland responded to reports that it won’t allow the formation of a Turning Point USA student club, saying it doesn’t permit outside student groups.

The school also noted the various civics clubs already in place for students, including liberal and conservative groups and Ignatians for Life.

TPUSA, founded in 2012 by the late Charlie Kirk as a national organization for young conservatives, operates chapters at several high schools and colleges in Ohio.

On Tuesday, President Trump posthumously awarded Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The state House passed a resolution honoring Pope Leo XIV, commemorating the election of the first American-born pontiff of the Catholic Church.

“Pope Leo XIV’s journey from the Midwest to the papacy is one of faith, service, and leadership, and we are grateful that our state has formally honored him in his role of Vicar of Christ,” said state Rep. Adam Mathews, R-Lebanon.

Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, was born and raised in Chicago and attended St. Augustine Seminary High School in Michigan.
