Article Icon 1Trump Returns to Youngstown

President Trump urged Ohioans to vote early at a Monday night rally at Youngstown’s Covelli Centre, his third at the arena.

“I am asking everyone to just pretend I am on the ballot,” Trump said. He stumped for Sen. Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy after former NFL coach and Sandusky native Jon Gruden introduced him.

The president spent much of the speech on immigration, inflation and Iran, saying gas prices are lower than under President Biden. He also took aim at Husted’s opponent, former Sen. Sherrod Brown, and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton.

Protesters gathered downtown ahead of the rally. Trumbull County Democrats Vice Chair Kathy DiCristofaro criticized the president’s “empty promises.”

A recent poll cited by WFMJ puts Trump’s approval in Ohio at 36% and shows Acton leading Ramaswamy 50% to 42% among likely voters. Mahoning County Republican Chair Tom McCabe called the midterms “a turnout election.”

Honda is weighing a new hybrid-vehicle assembly plant in Union County that would employ about 3,000 people, according to records filed with the Ohio EPA.

The Oct. 7 filing, dubbed “Project Sunrise,” places the roughly 300-acre site in Liberty Township, on Honda-owned land between its Marysville and East Liberty auto plants. The plant would build hybrid Honda and Acura models.

A Honda spokesman confirmed the application but said the company hasn’t made a final investment decision. The state’s Tax Credit Authority, which approves job-creation incentives, meets Oct. 26.

The proposal follows Honda’s decision to scrap three electric vehicle models once slated for Ohio production. Honda already employs about 15,400 people at its Ohio manufacturing sites.

Article Icon 1Libraries Ask Voters for Help

Sixteen Ohio library systems will ask voters for levy money on the Nov. 3 ballot.

The list includes 11 renewals, two renewals with increases, and three new levies, including a 3-mill, five-year request from the Toledo Lucas County Public Library. The Defiance Public Library is seeking a 1.65-mill, 35-year levy.

Local levies can cover 40% or more of a library’s revenue, according to Ohio Library Council Executive Director Michelle Francis. Much of the rest comes from the state’s Public Library Fund, which lawmakers cut by $25 million in the current budget.

The requests come as property taxes, which fund the levies, have become a frequent talking point in this fall’s statewide races. Voters approved 12 of 14 library levies in the May primary.

How to Survive 16 Days Underwater

In March, an underwater drone traveled 1,257 miles over 16 days without ever coming up, roughly the distance from Los Angeles to Dallas.

That kind of uninterrupted range underwater used to require a nuclear reactor. But this world-first performance was powered by Infinity’s hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Why’s this a big deal? Unlike batteries that must get bigger to run longer, Infinity’s fuel cells deliver massive performance in small packages. This enables drones to operate without surfacing or recharging, a key strategic advantage for customers like the U.S. Navy.

The Navy isn’t the only one betting on Infinity, either. This tech has also logged 2,600+ hours for NASA. In total, Infinity’s won $60M+ in past and current contracts.

Now they’re scaling production to meet demand and inviting investors to share in their potential. And if you invest by Thursday, you’ll earn 5% in guaranteed bonus stock. Maximize your early-stage Infinity stake before the deadline.
