Article Icon 1Russo Launches Secretary of State Bid

State Rep. Allison Russo, D-Upper Arlington, launched a 2026 campaign for Ohio Secretary of State on Thursday, weeks after stepping down as House Minority Leader.

Russo is serving her fourth term in the Ohio House, where she was previously ranking member on the House Health Committee.

One other Democrat has already declared his candidacy for the 2026 race: Dr. Bryan Hambley, an oncologist from Cincinnati who has raised more than $500,000 since January.

On the Republican side, the two declared candidates are State Treasurer Robert Sprague and retired Air Force Lt. Col. Marcell Strbich.

Article Icon 1Blue Angels Lead Columbus Air Show

The Columbus Air Show lifts off today at Rickenbacker International Airport, running Friday through Sunday with daylong flying and ground attractions. More than 50,000 spectators are expected to attend.

Headliners include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, joined by the Navy’s F-35C Lightning II Demonstration Team and the U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demo Team.

Also present will be the U.S. Navy Band, the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard Drill and U.S. Guard Rifle Formation Teams, and more than 75 sailors in town for Navy Week.

More than a dozen acts are also scheduled, from World War II-era bombers to civilian aerobatics teams. A complete list of performers is available here.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton has opened a World War II exhibit spotlighting the Army Air Forces’ decisive role in the war.

Titled Tactical Airpower in Europe, the gallery examines coordination between air and ground forces in the European theater, from close air support to bombing campaigns.

A fully restored Douglas A-26 Invader cockpit is the highlight of the exhibit, letting visitors climb in for a simulated tactical bombing run. You can learn more about the museum here.
