Article Icon 1Energy Efficiency Bill Proposed

Proposed state legislation would allow energy companies to temporarily control certain household appliances and heating and cooling during periods of high electricity demand, in an effort to reduce strain on the state’s power grid.

House Bill 427, introduced by Rep. Roy Klopfenstein, R-Haviland, would permit utilities to raise a customer’s thermostat on hot days or cycle usage of water heaters and major appliances.

Participation would be voluntary and opt-in. Enrolled customers could override temperature changes or appliance cycling initiated during high-demand periods.

A similar measure stalled in the senate after a narrow house vote last year. That proposal would have automatically enrolled customers statewide, making participation opt-out rather than opt-in.

The zoo will also launch an Impact Fund to build community partnerships that promote “coexistence with wildlife” and “accelerate future animal habitats and gardens.”

Canfield ranked as the top destination out of 50 for retirees with $500,000 in savings, with 12 Ohio cities on the list, including Fairlawn at No. 2 and North Canton at No. 5.

Experts analyzed cities with at least 1,000 residents ages 65 and older, using the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Federal Reserve Economic Data to calculate the average retirement cost of living. Canfield was selected, with retirees predicted to spend $410,679 over 20 years, or about $44,563 annually.

Joining Canfield, Fairlawn, and North Canton in the national top 10 were Middleburg Heights and Chesterland. Cortland, Lyndhurst, Seven Hills, Sheffield, Vermilion, Huron, and Brookville also made the ranking.

Did you know that collagen deficiency strikes nearly everyone over the age of 30?

This is because after you turn 30, you start losing 1% of collagen per year.

Which is a bad thing.

You see, collagen is the “glue” that holds your body together. And without enough collagen, your body literally starts falling apart (FAST!).

Some of the warning signs are a droopy neck, brittle nails, dry, flaky hair, and deep lines around your mouth and eyes.

When people start noticing these signs, they often turn to expensive collagen powders for help.

Only problem? They’re INCOMPLETE, and therefore useless.
