Ohio will implement significant changes to its police training curriculum on July 1, aiming to better prepare officers for modern policing challenges.

The updated program replaces 72 hours of outdated coursework with classes on active shooters, critical decision-making, crisis mitigation, de-escalation, communications, and incident debriefing.

Additionally, revised fitness standards will allow cadets to pass two of three required tests while achieving at least 75% on the third in an effort to boost recruitment numbers.

Jobs with solid earning potential were also found in industries such as transportation, public safety, and real estate. See the full list of careers here.
