Article Icon 1Court Allows Ban on Youth Sex-Change Procedures

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled a ban on sex-change medical procedures for minors will remain in effect pending ongoing legal challenges, reversing a lower court’s decision.

In March, the 10th District Court of Appeals ruled parts of the Ohio law were unconstitutional and directed the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas to issue an injunction blocking the law. The state Attorney General’s office challenged the decision.

A spokeswoman for state Attorney General Dave Yost praised the state Supreme Court’s decision, saying, “The legislature acted properly in enacting this constitutional law, which protects our children from irreversible medical decisions.”

The state Supreme Court did not release a hearing schedule in the case.

Ohio University will shut down its Division of Diversity and Inclusion to comply with Senate Bill 1, which restricts diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives at public universities.

The division includes the Multicultural Center, Pride Center, and Women’s Center. The Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Office of Inclusion will also close.

Operations at the affected centers will phase out in the coming weeks, and all DEI-related staff positions will be eliminated.

The school’s announcement follows similar decisions by the University of Toledo and Case Western Reserve University.

Put an End to Those Pesky Spam Calls

There are few things more frustrating than dashing across the room to answer your ringing phone, only to see “Potential Spam” on the caller ID (probably for the third time today). If you want to cleanse your phone of this annoyance (and increase your personal security), you have three options:

1. Throw your phone into the ocean.

2. Individually block each unknown caller.

3. Stop spammers from getting your number in the first place with Incogni.

We highly recommend option No. 3, and not just because electronic garbage is bad for aquatic life. Incogni’s automated personal information removal service hunts down your personal information, then removes it from the web. Plus, Incogni will reduce the number of spam emails in your inbox.
