Question: What Ohio dam shares a name with a famous Nevada-Arizona dam?
Answer: Hoover Dam. Unlike the one on the Nevada-Arizona border, Ohio’s Hoover Dam near Westerville wasn’t named after President Herbert Hoover, but after brothers Charles and Clarence Hoover, who worked for Columbus Water Works. Built to help Columbus cope with post-World War II population growth, the dam was completed in 1955.
