The Women’s National Basketball Association will return to Cleveland in 2028 with the revival of the Cleveland Rockers.

The original Rockers played in Cleveland from 1997 through 2003.

The new team will play at Rocket Arena, the home of the Cavaliers. Detroit and Philadelphia were also awarded teams, with each new franchise paying a $250 million expansion fee.

The addition of Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Toronto (2026), and Portland (2026) will expand the WNBA to 18 teams.

Cleveland-based aerospace supplier TransDigm Group will acquire Simmonds Precision Products for about $765 million in cash.

Simmonds, headquartered in Vermont, designs sensors and monitoring equipment for the aerospace and defense industries. It employs roughly 900 people.

TransDigm supplies aircraft components for commercial and military jets to manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus.
