Columbus-based Huntington Bancshares will buy smaller rival Cadence Bank in an all-stock deal valued at $7.4 billion.

The deal will make Huntington a top 10 bank with $276 billion in assets, $220 billion in deposits, and $184 billion in loans and leases.

Cadence operates nearly 400 locations across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas, with headquarters in Texas and Mississippi.

Huntington, which operates over 1,000 locations in 14 states, plans to keep all the Cadence branches open under the Huntington brand, expanding its reach to 21 states.

A WalletHub analysis found Ohio ranks as the 10th-worst state for student loan debt.

The research company examined 12 metrics, including average debt, the share of students with debt, unemployment rate among people aged 25 to 34, and the availability of student jobs.

Among those categories, Ohio ranked fifth highest in share of student loan borrowers aged 50 and older and eighth worst in debt-to-median income ratio.

Nationally, the Trump administration recently agreed to forgive more student loan debt for millions of borrowers.

The price for a Cincinnati-area estate that hit the market earlier this month for $3.35 million was cut to $3.1 million.

The 7,066-square-foot home in the city’s Indian Hill suburb sits on 4 acres and features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a six-car garage, a stone fireplace, and a large kitchen with a center island.
