Article Icon 1Bail Lowered for Assault Suspects

Two of the suspects arrested in connection with the July 26 assaults in downtown Cincinnati were released from jail after a judge reduced their bond amounts.

The bond amounts for DeKyra Vernon, 24, and Aisha Devaughn, 25, were lowered to $25,000 from $250,000 and $300,000, respectively.

Cincinnati police said they continue to search for an eighth suspect tied to the brawl. Last week, prosecutors filed additional charges against five of the seven people charged.

The incident and the community’s response have drawn national attention.

A baby bald eagle named Star, rescued earlier this month after falling from its nest, was released back into the wild this week. Watch the release video here.

Star was found in critical condition after falling in Grandview Heights in early August.

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary in Mansfield and the state Division of Wildlife released Star at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, located less than 5 miles from the eaglet’s original nest.
