Severe storms swept through Ohio Wednesday night, knocking out power to over 200,000 residents and leaving more than 60,000 still without electricity Thursday morning.

North of Dayton, downed power lines forced the closure of Interstate 75 in both directions. In Columbiana County, debris temporarily shut down State Route 7. Cincinnati firefighters rescued two people and two pets from high water in Madisonville.

Tornado warnings were issued across northeast Ohio, and wind gusts reached as high as 81 mph in South Amherst.
